Non-surgical Hemorrhoid Banding

We use the CRH O’Regan System which is a simple, painless and highly effective procedure (99.1%) that can be performed in less than a minute. Our physician will place a tiny rubber band around the internal hemorrhoid to cut off its blood supply. The hemorrhoid then shrinks and falls off within a day or so, usually without you noticing. This method requires no pain medication and virtually no recovery time. You are able to resume normal activities that day.

It is a short procedure and you will not be sedated nor need a driver. The banding of your hemorrhoids will require four visits at least two weeks apart. Three bandings and one for a follow-up office visit.

If you take blood thinners (Coumadin, Warfarin, Plavix, Aspirin, NSAIDS- such as ibuprofen, Aleve or Celebrex) you must be able to stop them for six weeks. You will need to contact the prescribing physician and make sure it is safe for you to be off of them that long. If you have a latex allergy, you will not be able to have the banding procedure.

You may experience slight lower abdominal cramping and possible light bleeding for 24 hours. There will be no diet restrictions.
